Staying Safe — A Complete Guide

Follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for everyone.

Before Your Stay — What to Check
  • Read all property reviews carefully, paying attention to mentions of cleanliness, safety and accuracy.
  • Confirm the property address and directions with your host a day before check-in.
  • Keep emergency numbers for the destination area (police, ambulance, local hospital) saved on your phone.
  • Share your itinerary and property address with a trusted friend or family member at home.
  • Ensure you have travel insurance that covers cancellations, medical emergencies and loss of belongings.
During Your Stay — What to Do
  • Familiarise yourself with the fire exits, extinguisher locations, and emergency exit routes on arrival.
  • Keep all entry points (doors, gates, windows) locked when you are inside or away from the property.
  • Do not share your booking confirmation or access codes with anyone not on your guest list.
  • Report any property damage, missing amenities or safety issues to the host and StayDekho support within 24 hours of check-in.
  • Respect the house rules outlined in the listing — these exist for the safety and comfort of all parties.

COVID-19 Protocols — Cleaning Standards
  • All StayDekho properties follow our Enhanced Cleaning Protocol between stays, using WHO-approved disinfectants.
  • High-touch surfaces (switches, handles, remotes, keys) are sanitised after every checkout.
  • Hosts are required to maintain a 24-hour buffer between bookings for thorough cleaning and airing.
  • Linen and towels are washed at high temperatures and sealed in bags before the next guest arrives.
  • Guests who feel unwell during their stay should inform the host and contact StayDekho support immediately for assistance and rebooking options.
Reporting Issues — How to Report
  • For safety emergencies, call 112 first, then contact StayDekho's 24/7 helpline.
  • To report a property issue: go to My Bookings → select the booking → tap "Report an Issue".
  • To report a host: go to the host's profile page and tap "Report this host".
  • All reports are reviewed within 24 hours by our Trust & Safety team and actioned accordingly.
  • You may also email detailed reports with evidence to safety@staydekho.com. Include your booking reference number.
